CHINESE LANGUAGE COURSES:
IPIE.US is pleased to offer real-time synchronous online language courses to businesses and individuals. Through the use of collaborative teaching tools in a virtual classroom students can participate in classes from anywhere in the world. Participant requirements include a computer (PC or Mac) with internet access, webcam, microphone and speaker.
All courses are currently taught by Chen Yan, Vice-President, International Partnerships in Education. Born and raised in China, Yan's entire life has been devoted to education. Both of her parents were educators; her father a high school principal and her mother a math teacher. During a time when it was unheard of in China, all three of their children earned graduate degrees from prestigious international universities.
Yan earned her MA in Educational Studies from the University of York, UK and her BA in English and Education in China. She currently serves as an adjunct facility member of Seton Hill University and Kings College in the USA.
Yan's goal as an educator is to ensure that her students are properly prepared to enter the workforce of an increasingly interdependent world. She believes that a better understanding and respect for cultural differences and similarities is an essential part of that preparation.
Prior to co-founding International Partnerships in Education, Yan was an English Lecturer at Ningbo University (P.R. China) and served as the Master of Ceremony for the annual Guangzhou Speech Conference. Additionally, she served as coordinator for UK universities attending the annual Educational Exhibition held by British General Consulate in Guangzhou.
